Twenty years between the classroom and the column.

Dr. P. S. Vohra

Dr. P. S. Vohra is an academician, education leader, economist, columnist and author. His work moves between three worlds that rarely talk to each other: the school, the university, and the public argument about money.

Twenty years of it, and more — 14+ years in higher education across business schools and universities in India and Canada, and 10+ years in school education as CEO and Principal.

Since June 2016 he has been CEO & Principal of Seth Tolaram Bafna Academy, Bikaner — a CBSE institution of 3,500 students and 200 staff, with an annual turnover past ₹10 crore. What followed was one of the most complete transformations in the school’s history: academic, financial, cultural and structural, and the top position in the city within five years.

He is known for building high-trust, zero-attrition systems, for growing a second line of leadership rather than a dependency on one office, and for refusing the false choice between financial discipline and academic ambition. Since December 2018 he has also served as CBSE City Coordinator for Bikaner, running board examinations and national assessments across the city — including the COVID-era evaluation conducted under CBSE and Supreme Court directions.

As a writer he is known for clarity of thought and data-driven analysis: the ability to put a complex matter simply without flattening it. He has written a national column since 2020, with 200+ published articles across leading Hindi and English newspapers, on India’s economy, public finance, global economic trends and the financial life of the ordinary household. His book आर्थिक सफ़रनामा (2023) follows the same journey at length, and he appears regularly on national media as a panellist, reviewer and subject expert.
